The First Harlem Academy Awards Red Carpet Event

I am honored and humbled to receive the Maya Angelou Award for “Harlem Stair Stepper” at The First Harlem Renaissance Academy Awards.  All I can say is that WE PARTIED and there were LOTS OF HUGS AND LOVE from the moment the doors of Cheri Restaurant opened until they closed. Harlem Residents and Folks from ALL OVER SHOWED UP AND and SHOWED OUT!! The level of DIVERSITY in the room was AMAZING!! Let us never forget that “We are the Change We Seek” and as long as WE STAND UP – with SINCERE INTENT – in a LOVING and CARING WAY – WE WON’T FALL BACK AND OUR VOICES WILL BE HEARD!! I’m sure Next Year’s Oscars/Academy Awards Ceremony will follow our lead and EMBRACE THE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MINORITIES HAVE MADE TO THE FILM INDUSTRY!! Live and Embrace a “HUGS Mindset.”  Much Love…MarshaHUGS
